Falster is a Danish island. The area of the island is 514 km² (198 sq. miles), and there are 43,537 inhabitants, over 40% of whom live in the principal town, Nykøbing Falster. It includes Denmark\'s southernmost point, Gedser Odde.

It is connected to Zealand in the north by two bridges – the Farø Bridges (Farøbroerne) are part of Euroroute E47 from Copenhagen (and Helsingborg) to Lübeck (and thence Hamburg and the south). The E47 continues via a tunnel under the Guldborgsund strait to the western neighbouring island of Lolland. From there, a ferry connects to Germany, but plans exist for a Fehmarn Belt bridge to replace the ferry. The Farø bridges join on the small island of Farø, and from there a further bridge gives access to the eastern neighbouring island of Møn.

There are two other bridges connecting to Lolland: the Guldborgsund Bridge at the northern end of the strait and the Frederick IX Bridge at Nykøbing Falster.
